Dr. Feickert Analogue Firebird Turntable

We sought the ability to handle two 12 inch tonearms was one of the principle design parameters along with simplifying the turntable setup and alignment procedures. We also focused on the visual perspective as well with evolutionary refinements in our form factor, fit and finish and presence. From a tonal standpoint the Firebird represents the pinnacle of the DFA product line, it is truly our new reference turntable.

Though we could have simply modified existing electronics, we started from scratch and developed our most advanced electronics and hardware. We even developed new software taking multi-motor turntable operation to a never before seen level of performance.

We arranged three motors in an equilateral triangle. As with the Blackbird, the positive effects of reduced drag force on the bearing is bettered by the triangle configuration as it also stabilizes the bearing/platter assembly by cancelling out all acting forces. Combined with our new bearing system which reduces area of contact by 80%, we achieve much lower friction. Therefore rumble, wow and flutter are minimized.

All the features and improvements we have implemented in Firebird make this the best sounding and highest performing table in our catalog. Background noise is almost non-existant. Macro and micro dynamics are maximized. And, our tightly integrated protractor system makes it possible to get the most out of your chosen arm and cartridge.
